¹⁷ Amaziah, the king of Judah, the son of Joash, lived for another fifteen years after the death of Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz, the king of Israel. ¹⁸ As for the other deeds of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

¹⁹ They plotted against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. They sent for him in Lachish and they killed him there.
